A table magician performing close-up magic for seated guests during a corporate dinner

Table magicians.Because small talk ain't easy.

Close-up magic between the courses. It turns a table of strangers into the table that won't stop talking.
The problem

Every table starts with strangers.

The seating plan did its best, but half the table has never met. The starter comes and goes on small talk about the traffic and job titles. Phones creep out between courses, while the table across the room is somehow already roaring. You planned a brilliant dinner. Right now it is just waiting for a spark.

That is the table we unlock.
The solution
Table magic, dinner magic, between-course magic. Call it what you like.

The trick isn't the trick.

A table magician moves from table to table between the courses, working with cards, coins and borrowed rings inches from your guests, turning a lull into the story they tell for the rest of the night.

Because the real magic is what happens around it. The table that had run out of small talk is suddenly leaning in, laughing, swapping names. A skilled table magician doesn't interrupt the evening. They unlock it.

The result

The quietest table becomes the loudest.

Strangers who sat down politely leave having swapped stories all night, and you get the dinner your guests are still talking about on Monday morning.

Right for your event?

Made for the moment between courses.

Wherever guests are seated for dinner with a little time between courses, table magic earns its place. It shines at:

Gala Dinners
Award Dinners
Christmas Parties
Business Celebrations
Casino Nights
Team Building
A word of honesty

It isn't for every dinner.

Back-to-back speeches with no breaks between courses? There is nowhere for a table magician to work, so we would find a better moment or bow out.

A dark room or a loud band over dinner? Close-up magic has to be seen and heard, so save your budget for something built for that room.

Guests on their feet all night with no sit-down? That is a job for a roaming magician, and we will happily point you there.

But a seated dinner, well lit, with natural gaps between the courses and tables that could use a spark? That is exactly what we are for.

Before you ask

The questions we get asked most.

Between courses, your dinner magician joins the table and works with cards, coins, a borrowed ring or your guests' own thoughts, making the impossible happen inches from their faces. No stage, no setup, just close-up magic and a table that lights up. It works the same whether it's corporate dinner entertainment for forty people or a gala dinner for five hundred.
As a rough guide, one table magician comfortably covers 80 to 100 guests across a dinner. The more magicians you have, the more tables get visited and the better the coverage, so for larger dinners we simply add performers. Give us your guest numbers and running order and we'll recommend the right count.
The exact material depends on the magician, and each has their own style. What never changes is the priority: this is entertainment first. Clever, funny and impossible, pitched to your room, not a fixed routine of card tricks.
Yes. Table magic is the format, not the act. We can seat a mind reader working the tables, a pickpocket lifting watches between courses, or a classic sleight-of-hand close-up magician. Tell us the vibe and we'll match the act to your dinner.
During the meal, in the natural gaps between courses, so there's no interruption to speeches or service. If you'd rather it ran as after dinner entertainment once the plates are cleared, that works just as well. How long depends on your numbers and running order, and we'll plan the timing with you so every table gets their moment.
Yes. Every magician on the Collective carries public liability insurance. Most venues ask for it, so we can send the certificate straight to yours.
It depends on numbers, location and how long you need us, so there's no one-size price. Tell us about your event and we'll send a clear quote, no obligation.
We perform at corporate events across the UK, with table magicians regularly working London, Birmingham, Manchester and everywhere in between. Tell us your venue and we'll confirm.
As early as you can. For Christmas, aim for September, our December diary is usually full by then. We don't have an endless roster of great magicians, so booking early is the only way to avoid disappointment.
