It's a performance, not the supernatural. Some people call it mentalism, some a mentalist magician, but whatever the label it comes down to psychology, suggestion, misdirection and a lot of practice. Knowing that won't help you work out how he knew the name you were only thinking, and that's exactly the fun of it.

Both. A mentalist can work the room group by group during a drinks reception, or take a few minutes centre-stage after dinner. If you specifically want roaming entertainment, that's our roaming magicians; for a seated dinner, a table magician fits neatly between courses.
